Spring Break: Day Six

I am kind of sad that Spring Break had to come to an end. However, we had a good time on our last day. We went to my friend Geri's house and played with mommy's friends and their kids. Geri made some yummy pizza, which Hayden really loved because he ended up having a second piece.
Hayden and Brandon enjoyed the tramp in the backyard. Let me just say that when we eventually had to leave (even after spending a good portion of the day there), Hayden was pretty upset and wanted to stay at Geri's. I guess that means he had fun, but I did, too. Thanks Geri for having us all over.

So this was actually pretty funny. When Hayden was going down the slide, Kaleb started to climb up. Hayden knows that the rules at school are that we never climb up the slide, so he wanted to make sure that Kaleb new the rules as well. So Hayden decided that the best way to get his point across was to pull Kaleb's foot so that he wouldn't be able to climb up the slide anymore. It was pretty entertaining and it gave us mom's something to laugh about.

Later on we let the kids frost and decorate their own bunny cookies.

Here's a fun pic of most of the kids (minus Kaleb and Parker who was at school). In the front are Hayden and Briana, and in the back are Jake, Brandon, and Bella.

Easter Sunday

The Easter Bunny came! On Easter morning, after I picked Hayden up from Grandma's house, he got to find all the eggs that the bunny hid for him. Then Hayden checked out his basket and fun things the bunny brought him.

My little Easter cutie! You can't tell from this picture, but Hayden decorated his shirt with some of the dinosaur stickers he had gotten that morning.

Spring Break: Day Four

On Saturday, we decided to go to one of the bigger public Easter Egg Hunts. Since we live in Draper, I thought that we would try out the hunt at Draper Park. It was pretty crowded, but they divided the hunts according to age. Even though Hayden was in the 3-5 year category, he was still collecting eggs with older people (I am referring to the parents of the other kids who were totally picking up tons of eggs and throwing them into their kids' baskets). I thought the idea of the hunt was to let the kids actually pick up their own eggs. Oh, well! Even though Hayden ended up with about seven eggs he was still pretty happy about it. I tried to get him to pose with the Easter Bunny, but he had a hard time standing with him.
All Hayden really wanted to do when we got to the park was play on the playground...pretty typical kid. After the hunt he did play on the slides, and then he went in the inflatable bouncer that they had set up there, too. In fact, we stayed there until it started to rain, but it was pretty challenging to get Hayden to leave.

Later that day/evening, Hayden got to go to Grandma B.'s house for a sleepover while I drove out to Wendover with Dan, Brooke, and Travis. We had fun (what a good way for Brooke to break in being 21), but I think we all left with a little less than we came with. I actually sat down at a table and played Blackjack, something I've never done before, thanks to Dan (who was a great teacher). Hey, I guess we can say that we went out of town over Spring Break, right.

Spring Break: Day Three

On Friday, we had lunch with Brianne Poulsen and cute little Kaitlyn by the mall. It's always fun to get together with coworkers in a nonwork environment, and Hayden loved exploring a new playland. Afterwards, we went home for a bit and I let Hayden watch Sesame Street. Well, Elmo's World was all about cameras, so Hayden wanted to take some pictures. We ended up taking a few pictures (some didn't make the post) of us like bunnies and making funny faces.

After hanging out at home, we went out to run some more errands. I was feeling brave, and I decided to take Hayden to Kohl's. He was okay, by "Hayden standards," but I did get a few looks from fellow shoppers. The worst part was when he turned to me and said (quite loudly), "Mommy, I pooped." That's just great, I thought, but fortunately we were at the end of our shopping trip. However, Hayden couldn't stop talking. He went into detail (again, quite loudly) about how he didn't put his hands down his pants this time and get it all over his hands. I tried shushing him, but that only made him more persisitant in telling his story, and even more loudly. Oh well, the joys of motherhood, right! On a side note, I just have to laugh about something. The past two times that I have been browsing in the intimates section is when I have run into parents of students from Summit. At least I wasn't holding up a bra this time (although last time I was when I ran into a mom and her two young girls). Again, that's just how life rolls sometimes, but at least I can laugh about it.

Spring Break: Day Two

On Thursday, we headed to the Dino Museum at Thanksgiving Point. The picture above is Hayden being a dinosaur, but it does look more like I caught him burping (he actually doesn't really even do that...yet).
This is one of Hayden's favorite exhibits. He loves to look at elasmosaurus in the "pretend" water. You can't tell in this picture, but he actually got on top of the other kid so that he could see better.

He always has to sit on this triceratops-like dinosaur everytime we go. Luckily there weren't too many other kids around so Hayden didn't have to wait for a turn.

Say cheese! Here's proof that I was there, too. Although I am noticing that I seem to have the same pose every time I take a picture with Hayden. Later that afternoon, Grandma Jaco and Aunt Bethany came over to visit (I wish that I would have taken pictures). They brought Hayden some fun Easter goodies which he loves playing with (oh, and eating, too).

Our First Day of Spring Break

So on Wednesday, we ran some errands in the morning and then headed to the Aquarium. I haven't been there since they expanded it, so it was pretty fun to check out the South America exhibit. Hayden loved the anaconda and the caimens (sp?). They did a great job with the new addition...we were both completely engrossed in checking out all the new animals. Afterwards we went to Carl's Jr. to play with Geri, Cami, Rachael and all their kids. I couldn't believe that we ended up spending 3 hours there, but the kids had fun and the moms enjoyed good conversation (except for the incident involving Rachael and another mom which upset us all).

Egg Hunting At School

Hayden had his first Easter Egg Hunt this year at school on Tuesday. Despite being the youngest in his class, he was the kid who scrounged up the most eggs in the quickest time. As a result, his teachers had to take some of his eggs and redistribute them evenly to the other kids. I was in my class watching out the window, and I was so worried that Hayden was going to be upset by this. However, he was just fine...he was just happy with the eggs he got to keep. Yay!

Happy 21st Birthday Brooke!

So I tried to make a slot machine cake for Brookie's big 2-1, but I think that I needed to make the top half taller (oh well, it still tasted pretty good).

The birthday girl! Now she's legal! Can we say Wendover next weekend!
We're ready to spend some serious dough (okay, so they're just one dollar bills).

Um...I guess this picture looks a little awkward...it makes you wonder how the money got into her shirt, but let's not have dirty minds people...she is my little sis.

Brooke and her fiance, Travis. They got engaged in February and are planning to get married in September (I meant to post that bit of info sooner, but this is the first good picture that I have of the two of them).

Playing At the Farm...Again!

We went to the farm again on Saturday, but this time it was for a birthday party. The birthday girl, Paige, is in the purple coat above. She and Hayden go to school together.
Hayden was the only boy at the party and he didn't mind one little bit (a little ladies man already).

At first Hayden didn't want his face painted, but then he thought that a cow would be fun to have on his cheek. Obviously he didn't end up with a cow because he decided on a rainbow at the last minute.

Not afraid to feed the pony (I was kind of surprised after his last horse feeding experience).

Wow, my brave little buckaroo not only got on the pony, but he stayed on while the pony circled the track until his turn was over.

Here he is playing pin (or stick) the nose on the pig.
