The following morning, we went to a park in Draper for an Easter egg hunt. Oh my, it was so crowded just to get to any kind of parking, and then there were tons of parents/kids at the park. Once the horn was blown (which was about 15 minutes later than scheduled) the kids and parents swarmed towards the eggs and it only lasted for about 20 seconds. Poor Hayden was so disappointed because he only had time to collect two eggs. I felt so bad for him that we ended up going to Burger King later on for lunch. I think that I am going to avoid the city sponsored hunts next year because they have become overwhelmingly crowded.
After lunch, I had to get the sugar cookies ready and decorated. Then I had to get the Easter cake baked, frosted, and made to look a bunny. Below is Hayden enjoying one of the cookies and looking festive with his bunny ears.
That night, I suggested that Hayden write a note for the Easter Bunny asking how many eggs he should look for in the morning. I thought it would be a good idea for everyone to know (or remember) how many eggs were hidden.
Here is Hayden with the 49 eggs he found on Easter morning.
The bunny filled his basket, and mommy gave him some Easter/summer clothes.
We went to my mom and Bob's house for brunch. My sis, Travis, Gage, and Kyle met us there. We had the breakfast bake that I made, some biscuits, fruit, and the bunny cake.
